Live Nation, SMG In Talks To Manage Baltimore's Pier Six Pavilion

BALTIMORE, MD (CelebrityAccess) — The Baltimore Development Corp. announced that is in exclusive negotiations Live Nation and SMG to take over management of the city-owned Pier Six Pavilion.

According to the Baltimore Sun, the deal would see the two companies enter into a seven-year agreement to manage the downtown concert venue. The contract would go into effect in 2017 and would be extendable by three years.

"We're grateful that the BDC sees that Live Nation and SMG are uniquely positioned to take the Pier 6 Pavilion to the next level with premier live entertainment experiences and strategic commerce opportunities," Wilson Howard, regional president for Live Nation, said in a statement to the Sun. "We look forward to continuing conversations about what we can bring to the venue and the community."

Baltimore selected Live Nation and SMG as potential partners for the venue based on their offer of returns on the venue's operation as well as the largest proposed capital investment for the property, the Sun said.

The venue was previously operated by real estate develop Cordish and programmed by Rams Head Live. – Staff Writers
