Lynyrd Skynyrd Continues With Tour

Lynyrd Skynyrd did not have to look far for a new bassist to replace Leon Wilkeson, who passed away July 27. Ean Evans, who had subbed for Wilkeson over a dozen times, will rejoin the group on a temporary basis as the tour resumes Aug. 11 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. Eight concerts were postponed.

When the tour winds down in September, the band will decide on the future of the bass position. Only guitarist Gary Rossington and pianist Billy Powell remain from the original septet.
