OTTAWA (CelebrityAccess) – Ottawa’s RBC Bluesfest wrapped up yet another hugely successful year over the weekend.

The 10-day run included performances by the Foo Fighters, Bryan Adams, Shawn Mendes, and the Dave Matthews Band, each of which drew crowds in excess of 30,000, while this year’s total attendance has been estimated at a whopping 300,000.

This year’s event also featured a number of site re-configurations, something Bluesfest Executive and Artistic Director, Mark Monahan, feels better served the music listening public: “We had a lot of valuable input from fans last year about how to improve the site and the overall experience, and we put many of those things in place this year… I’m delighted with the way this year’s line-up was received.”

Monahan added that after a few days rest for the team, it would be time to ‘roll up their sleeves’ and continue preparation for CityFolk, taking place from September 12 to 15 at Lansdowne Park.

CityFolk 2018 will feature performances by David Byrne, the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Kaleo, Steve Earle, Hozier, Michael McDonald, and the Decemberists among countless others.

CityFolk will also include Marvest—a harvest of free music in unique venues along the city’s Bank Street, aimed at spotlighting more than 50 incredible Ottawa-area artists. That line-up, along with venue details and dates, will be announced in the weeks ahead.
