NEWPORT, R.I. (CelebrityAccess) — The Newport Music Festival announced that it will return with an expanded schedule for 2019.
This year, the festival will take place from July 4-28 and will present 43 concerts and events at Newport’s famed summer cottages, including The Breakers, The Elms, and the Chinese Tea House, as well as at other venues such as Castle Hill Inn, The Casino Theatre, The Bohlin, Blithewold, and Aldrich Mansion.
This year’s schedule includes:
July 6: Chang-Yong Shin – Debut artist and First Prize Winner of 2 International Piano Competitions
July 13: Ten-piece jazz band The Harlem 100 celebrating the Harlem Renaissance
July 20: An evening with Broadway star Sierra Boggess
July 21: Piano virtuoso Marc-André Hamelin
July 27: Jon Lehrer Dance and international musicians share the stage at The Casino Theatre
July 28: Annual Gala with Metropolitan Opera Star Nathan Gunn at Ochre Court to benefit NMF’s Education and Outreach program
Some of the more popular events from 2018 will be returning this year as well, including the Musical Garden Party, Sunrise Concerts, and Opera Night.
These events will feature pianist Daniel del Pino and mezzo-soprano Renée Rapier, as well as newcomers, tenor Jonathan Burton and harpist Bridget Kibbey.
