MIRAMAR, Fla. (CelebrityAccess) Florida rap star YNW Melly, who was arrested for allegedly staging the drive-by murders of two associates, may have set up a scene that involved Melly driving around in a jeep with the bodies of the two victims “for a period of time,” according to police.
The victims, Anthony Williams, 21, and Christopher Thomas Jr., 19, were shot dead in the early hours of Oct. 26 and driven in a Jeep Compass around 4 a.m. to an emergency room. Both had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the hospital.
Williams was known as YNW Sakchaser and Thomas was known as YNW Juvy, and both were considered to be lifelong friends of YNW Melly, real name Jamell Demons. They were trying to build their own rap careers and were featured on “Melly,” a documentary video posted to YNW Melly’s YouTube page.
The jeep was driven by Cortlen Henry, who asked medics for help with his two friends in the car, claiming they were shot in a drive-by. The victims were shot in the head, torso and back and police said it was a grisly scene with blood splattered about the car, according to TMZ, which has obtained the police report.
Henry said he and the victims had just wrapped a late night studio session and he was pulling off the freeway when a car pulled up on his driver’s side and opened fire. Police confirmed there were eight bullets along the right side of the vehicle where the two victims sat.
However, as police investigated the crime, they found a shell casing inside the jeep and eight matching shell casings in a different location where they believe Henry and Demons shot up the car. Forensic evidence also showed that the initial shot came from inside the vehicle and originated from the left rear passenger side of the car.
Also, surveillance footage from the recording studio shows all four men getting into the car, with YNW in that left, rear passenger seat.
Henry later told police that Demons was in the car with them and left at some point to get into another car, according to TMZ.
Police said that YNW and Henry drove around with the dead bodies “for a period of time” before driving to the hospital.
