LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – Capitol Music Group and Caroline, its independent distribution and label services division, have partnered with Korea’s largest entertainment company, SM Entertainment, to launch a K-pop supergroup featuring members of several SM boy bands.

Dubbed SuperM, the seven-member group is set to feature EXO’s Baekhyun and Kai, NCT 127’s Taeyong and Mark, Taemin of SHINee, and Lucas and Ten of WayV.

The announcement was made yesterday (Aug. 7) at the 2019 Capitol Congress by CMG Chairman & CEO Steve Barnett, Caroline President Jacqueline Saturn and famed executive producer and founder of SM Entertainment Soo-Man Lee.

SuperM will receive a grand-scale U.S. launch this upcoming October, which will include the group’s first music releases and debut U.S. live performances. According to an official press release, Capitol Music Group/Caroline will provide distribution and orchestrate comprehensive marketing, promotion and publicity campaigns in support of SuperM.

In announcing the group, Lee said: “We have put together 7 super talented artists to perform differentiated music. Super M will show you the core values of K-pop with music performance, fashion, and videos. All on a completely different scale, each with exceptional talent in dance, vocal, and rap.”

Barnett remarked: “SuperM is uniquely positioned to become the highest-profile U.S. debut of a K-pop group in the history of this phenomenon.”

Saturn added: “We are thrilled to be expanding our partnership with Mr. Lee and the entire team at SM Entertainment. SuperM is hugely exciting for all of us at Caroline, and we can’t wait to present the group and their music to American audiences in October.”
