CAA Partners With Internet Video Service

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Web video distributor Joost has inked a deal with Creative Artists Agency to enlist the agency to secure additional content and distribution for the internet service.

Joost, which recently secured $45 million in financing, has 150 content channels, including distribution deals with Viacom, CBS and Turner Networks.

“CAA will provide Joost greater access to programming through our relationships with networks, studios, record labels, artists and independently-owned content libraries,” said Michael Yanover, head of business development at CAA, according to Variety.

Joost, launched by the founders of Skype, uses peer-to-peer technology to distribute high-quality television content online.

Joost EVP Yvette Alberdingk-Thijm told Variety that the deal with CAA will allow the company to bring “more high-quality, professionally-produced programming to audiences around the world.”

Joost is currently in beta version, but is expected to launch its official service in the coming months. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
