SAN DIEGO, CA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Following his highly successful sold-out inaugural sailing in 2005, Dave Koz and Friends at Sea will set sail November 4-11 on the Holland American ms Oosterdam. Presented by Jazz Cruises, LLC, the world’s foremost and only producer of full charter jazz cruises, the seven day voyage embarks from San Diego, CA, with ports-of-call in Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Ensenada.
Koz is hosting and serving as artistic director and has assembled a line-up featuring a broad range of contemporary jazz’s top vocalists and instrumentalists, including special guest David Sanborn, Mindi Abair, Patti Austin, David Benoit, Rick Braun, Jonathan Butler, Michael Lington, Jeffrey Osborne, Brian Simpson, Wayman Tisdale, Kirk Whalum and Peter White. There also will be port-of-call performances by Jeff Golub in Cabo San Lucas and Euge Groove in Ensenada.
Koz works closely with Jazz Cruises executive director Michael Lazaroff and the artists to create extra-curricular daytime events and seminars, offering a unique opportunity for the artists and fans to bond beyond the experience of entertaining. For example, fans can play basketball with ex-NBA star Wayman Tisdale or learning about martinis with David Benoit and hear Patti Austin–dubbed the “The Oprah of the music world” by Koz–speak to “women over 40.” “As a fan of these artists, you’re going to love learning more about them in this way,” says Koz.
“Jazz Cruises is committed to a first-class, luxury experience for each and every guest," says Lazaroff. "With Dave Koz and Friends At Sea we have it all–a spectacular seven-day cruise, aboard a world-class ship, and an unparalleled line-up of exciting artists." –Bob Grossweiner and Jane Cohen
