REDMOND, WA (Hypebot) –
iPhone apps for artists are the rage. In fact, Hypebot added it own free iPhone app just last week. But there other brands still dominate the smartphone market and a new survey from comScore suggests that phones running on Google's Android platform could be set to explode in 2010.
By early in Q1 of 2010, Android phones will be available from a variety of manufacturers through multiple carriers, and consumers are taking notice. Among American consumers in the market for a smartphone, 17% are considering the purchase of an android-supported device in next 3 months, just 3% less that the 20% saying that they plan to purchase an iPhone.
