BRISBANE, Queensland (CelebrityAccess) — Australian music journalist Ritchie Yorke has died at the age of 73.
According to the Brisbane Courier-Mail, Yorke died The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane from complications of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Yorke was known for his long career that spanned more than 20 years as a chief music writer for the Sunday Mail. He also wrote for publications such as Rolling Stone, and Billboard.
Yorke also penned several books, including, "The History Of Rock ‘n’ Roll", "Led Zeppelin: The Definitive Biography", and "Christ You Know It Ain’t Easy: John and Yoko’s Battle For Peace", which was published last year.
A celebration of Ritchie’s life is currently being organized for Valentine’s Day at the Old Museum in Brisbane. He leaves behind his loving family and wife Minnie.
