Necrophagist Cancels More Dates

BERLIN (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — German metal band Necrophagist have added three more dates to their 'cancelled' list according to German website Drummerszone.com.

Muhammed Suiçmez, Necrophagist's frontman reportedly cancelled the first few dates on their "Carving Europe's Epitaph Vol. II" to allow new drummer Koos van der Velde a chance to get up to speed on the band's setlist. van der Velde had been chosen as a replacement by the band's regular drummer, Hannes Grossmann, who needed to devote time to his studies.

Apparently van der Velde had trouble picking up the band's complex songs as Suiçmez cancelled even more dates after a soundcheck in Berlin on Feb 16. (Leipzig on Feb 17 and Ruzomberok on Feb 19 were the cancelled dates).

The style of deathmetal that Necrophagist plays is generally considered "technical deathmetal" and is very complex and precise from a musical standpoint.

Grossman is now flying in to make the Vienna show on Feb. 20 while van der Velde will be flying back home to pursue other projects.
