Protesters Arrested After Rappelling Stunt At Bank Of America Stadium

CHARLOTTE, NC (CelebrityAccess) — Four protesters were arrested on Monday after two of them rappelled from the stadium rafters to hang a sign during Monday's televised Carolina Panthers game.

The two protesters, apparently working on behalf of We Are Cove Point, a group protesting Bank of America's involvement in the construction of a liquefied natural gas facility in Maryland, unfurled a banner which read “BoA: Dump Dominion” and provided a web link to the the protest group's website.

Emegency responders converged on the protestors and stadium staff cleared patrons from the area below until the two rappellers had been arrested.

Police have not named the four, but We Are Cove Point told Charlotte news station WBTV that their names were David Baghdadi, Erica Madrid, John Nicholson and Angela Vogel.

The Panthers organization released a statement on Tuesday saying that they are working with Charlotte police to investigate the incident. – Staff Writers
