Russ Taff Joins Gaither Vocal Band

Gospel artist Russ Taff is joining the lineup of the Gaither Vocal Band, replacing Mark Lowry who is expected to leave the group at the end of the year. In addition to Gaither and Taff, current members of the band include seven-year veteran Guy Penrod and three-year veteran David Phelps.

"I feel like I've come full circle," said the former Imperials lead vocalist and recipient of three solo Grammy awards and nine Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. "I grew up singing southern gospel with my four brothers; in fact, we weren't allowed to listen to anything else. I was born for this job."

Taff will join the band for the taping of a Homecoming special in Red Rocks, Colo. next week, and will be traveling and recording with the group shortly after.
