NEW ORLEANS (CelebrityAccess) — Bassist Johnny Ray Allen, a founding member of the Louisiana-based band The Subdudes died at his home in New Orleans on August 8th. He was 56 at the time of his passing.
According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Allen's wife, Martha Reggett Allen said that her husband was found dead of unknown causes. She said that he had a heart condition and that the determination of the cause of death was pending an autopsy.
Allen's band, The Subdudes, announced that their upcoming shows will be performed as a tribute to Allen. The band formed in 1987 and played in Colorado markets, moving to Fort Collins when they signed their first major label deal with Atlantic Records in 1989. – Staff Writers
