LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) – Longtime composer of The Simpsons, Alf Clausen, is suing the show’s creators for age discrimination, wrongful termination, and retaliation, according to The Associated Press.

In the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday (Aug. 5), 78-year-old Clausen, who was reportedly fired from composing and conducting all music for the long-running series two-years-ago, claims he was told that he was being replaced because the series was “taking the music in a different direction.”

Clausen is arguing that his dismissal was due to his age and a perceived disability, reports AP.

The Simpsons, which airs on the FOX Network, debuted in 1989. Its 31st season is scheduled to premiere in September.
