PHILADELPHIA, PA (CelebrityAccess) — Venue management and entertainment company Spectra announced the addition of two new senior executives — Joyce Leveston and William Hughston, to the team.

Leveston, who has more than three decades experience running major convention centers, joins Spectra’s Convention Center Group as Vice President.

She most recently served as General Manager in Boston’s Hynes Convention Center and Boston Convention & Exhibitions Center, but her C.V. also includes stints at Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., the Spectra-run Miami Beach Convention Center, the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas; and the San Diego Convention Center.

Joyce holds industry memberships with PCMA, IAEE, ASAE, AIPC and currently sits on the committee for diversity and inclusion for IAVM. She received her CMP in 1997, her Certified Meeting Management (CMM) in 2015, and her Certified Venue Professional (CVP) recognition last year in 2018.

“In joining forces with the amazing talent at Spectra, I look forward to mentoring teams, fostering growth, and building future leaders across our 46 convention centers,” Leveston said. “Having managed mammoth operations and big-name events—from the Superbowl to the Presidential Inaugural Ball—I am excited to share my day-to-day know-how, as well as strategic oversight with this team moving into the future of private management.”

Hughston joins Spectra from Thompson Hospitality Corporation, where he oversaw both national and local initiatives for the organization. His background includes senior roles with a variety of companies, including Aramark, Lowes Home Improvement, The Target Corporation, and The Home Depot.

“I look forward to using my experience as a leader in the hospitality industry to find highly impactful and innovative ways to attract, retain and develop the talent needed to support the growth of our organization,” Hughston said. “As the leader of Spectra’s human resources team, my mission is to enable and equip our business partners with the necessary tools and competencies to achieve the goals of the organization, as well as meet the expectations of our clients and customers.”

Hughston began his new gig at Spectra on August 26th, while Leveston started on Sept. 3rd. Both will be based in the company’s headquarters in Philadelphia.
