Baseball Teams Top TicketsNow August Chart

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Consistent with baseball division standings, the New York Yankees took the first place spot on the Tickets Now August Entertainment Index Sports list with 6.5% of ticket sales over the Boston Red Sox's 5.2%. The Chicago Cubs and Detroit Tigers fell in at third and fourth place with 3.9% and 3.4% of sports sales, respectively.

With the 2006 professional football season underway, six NFL teams ranked in the Top 20 of overall event ticket sales: Jacksonville Jaguars (#7), Seattle Seahawks (#9), Dallas Cowboys (#11), Baltimore Ravens (#12), Arizona Cardinals (#15), and New York Jets (#19). Despite their 2006 Super Bowl win, the Pittsburgh Steelers failed to break into the Top 20.

"Baseball Playoffs are almost here and there are some incredible football match-ups scheduled this season," says Kenneth Dotson, chief marketing officer for TicketsNow. "In addition to great tickets to these games and other top events, our customers will find a full community of offerings on the new TicketsNow Web site, from interactive seating charts and venue parking maps to restaurant recommendations and user reviews."
