LONDON (VIP NEWS) — Kings of Leon will return to the U.K. for arena dates in December. The band will tour its new album "Come Around Sundown" (Columbia), released in Britain on Oct. 18.
The latest dates follow Kings of Leon's sold-out 65,000-capacity show in London's Hyde Park and headline performance at the V Festival this summer.
"Come Around Sundown" has the potential to be one of the biggest fourth quarter releases in the U.K. The first single, "Radioactive," will debut on radio on Sept. 13.
Promoters SJM and Live Nation are clearly confident about the band's ability to keep selling tickets. The tour starts at Manchester Arena on December 13, and continues at Sheffield Motorpoint Arena (Dec. 14 and 19), Birmingham NIA (Dec. 16 and 17) and London O2 Arena (Dec. 21).
The band has also announced further arena shows in Belgium, Austria, Germany prior to the British shows.
Kings of Leon's "Only By The Night" registered a sales increase last week and moved up to No. 23 on the Official Charts Co listing after 102 weeks on the chart. It is certified five times platinum for shipments of 1.5 million.
