SAN FRANCISCO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Former Sex Pistol Johnny Lydon's Public Image Ltd. is back in action with their first full scheduled tour after an 18-year hiatus.
The Lydon (AKA Johnny Rotten)-fronted band reformed late last year and staged a series of 5 successful shows in the UK, prompting the group to plot a 17-date tour of North American and Canada for this spring, kicking off with an April 16 appearance at Coachella.
The tour will include Lydon along with PIL veterans Lu Edmonds on guitar, Bruce Smith on drums along with newcomer to the band Scott Firth replacing the inimitable Jah Wobble on bass.
The tour is timely and this year is the 30th anniversary of the band's first US tour and their debut on Dick Clark's "American Bandstand."
"I sound like a bag of kittens thrown down the staircase." said Lydon, perhaps prepping fans for what's in store for them on the tour. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
