AEG Signs On For Major New Moscow Sports Arena Complex

MOSCOW, Russia (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — AEG Facilities has signed a long-term, multi-year exclusive agreement with a Russian developer ZAO Rusinkom over a major new sports and entertainment complex opening in Moscow's Galactica Park development.

The deal will see AEG providing ZAO Rusinkom with consultation for pre-opening design and venue operations, including identifying naming rights and sponsorship opportunities, development of ticketing, venue programming and marketing initiatives, sales of VIP suites, arena management and operational support.

Slated to open in 2018, the complex will include a 20,000 seated capacity multi-use arena that will host concerts, professional hockey and other sports, as well as conferences and exhibitions. The complex also includes a 150,000 square meter indoor Universal Studios theme park, an indoor Universal Studios water park, Universal CityWalk dining, shopping and entertainment complex, two hotels with 1100 room capacity, 250 meter-tall office towers, a 120,000 square meter retail shopping complex and four levels of underground parking. The development will be also serviced by metro and bus stations.

AEG already has a presence in the Russian capital. In 2011, AEG signed on to operate VTB Arena park, a multi-use sports and entertainment complex under development in Petrovsky Park near the center of Moscow.

"We are excited to be working with ZAO Rusinkom on this iconic project," said Bob Newman, President, AEG Facilities. "We firmly believe in the great potential of Moscow’s dynamic marketplace, and look forward to supporting many years of success at Galactica Park." – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
