PETRA, Jordan (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — One year since his passing, the official tribute concert and memorial ceremony will be held in honour of legendary Italian tenor, Luciano Pavarotti, in Petra, Jordan on October 11 & 12th
The event is being organised by Nicoletta Mantovani with the support of HRH Princess Haya of Jordan, who is also a UN Messenger of Peace with some help from UK promoter Harvey Goldsmith, who will produce the event. Goldsmith, a long-time collaborator with Pavarotti, revealed that the show would be broadcast in more than 40 countries.
Proceeds from the concert will support joint projects in Afghanistan sponsored by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).
Among the performers slated to appear at the tribute are tenor Jose Carreras, Andrea Bocelli, Bono, Sting with orchestral support conducted by Eugene Kohn.
Other musicians on the bill include Jovanotti, Zucchero, Laura Pausini, Angela Gheorghiu, Andrea Griminelli, Cynthia Lawrence and Roberto Alagna. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
