TORONTO (CelebrityAccess) — Zaed Maqbool, a former veteran of The Agency Group/United Talent's Toronto office, has joined Live Nation to serve as Vice President of Touring for south Asia and the Middle East.
According to Billboard, Maqbool, whose roster included July Talk, A Tribe Called Red and Marianas Trench, will relocate to Live Nation's offices in Dubai for his new role in January.
“I’m extremely excited for the new adventure,” Maqbool told Billboard, “and thrilled to be working with a forward-thinking company that understands the importance of emerging markets.”
Billboard reported that Maqbool was offered the new gig by Live Nation's Alan Ridgeway and said that he turned down an offer to join his former TAG/UTA colleagues Jack Ross and Ralph James at APA's new Toronto office.
"So once all of this happened, I had a couple of offers on the table, and I was legitimately ready to sign with an agency. Then the offer came [from Live Nation] and it was hard to say no. Jack and Ralph have been my mentors since the very beginning and they put an offer on the table as well, but I have their blessing," Maqbool told Billboard.
