(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Red Hot Chili Peppers have confirmed that they are set to headline the second to last day of the Rock in Rio-Lisboa 2006 festival, on June 3rd in Portugal.
The band’s visit is part of their European tour in support of their latest album, “Stadium Arcadium.”
The band’s first new album in 4 years, recorded with producer Rick Rubin, speaks of “the cultural death of the Western Coast of the USA,” according to a press release from the group. The double CD with 25 songs will be released in May.
This will be the Chili Peppers second appearance at Rock in Rio. In 2001 they were responsible for a memorable closing concert attended by 250 thousand fans that enjoyed one of the best moments of that festival’s edition in Rio de Janeiro.
The band’s European tour will also visit France, July 6 in Lyon and July 8 and 9 in Paris. The dates for United Kingdom will be released on the 13th of February, for Spain on the 16th of February, for Germany on the 18th and for the Czech Republic only March 1st. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
