WASHINGTON D.C. (CelebrityAccess) — Elizabeth McGovern, one of the stars of the hit BBC show "Downton Abbey," is going to hit the road in the U.S. for a tour with her folk-rock outfit, Sadie and the Hotheads.
The ten-date tour kicks off on Dec. 4 at the Lincoln Theatre in Washington D.C and winds down on Dec. 14th at Infinity Hall in Hartford, CT, with additional stops in New York City; Newark, New Jersey; and Annapolis, Maryland.
Sadie & The Hotheads are touring in support of their third studio album, "Still Waiting" which was released earlier this year.
"It's a slightly funny experience for fans of the show to come hear the music because it's such a different world to the show itself," McGovern told The Associated Press. "When we first started touring there would be a lot of people carrying 'Downtown Abbey' books … and I could see a look of surprise on their faces because it isn't what you expect. I mean it's not a classical quartet of violins."
In "Downton Abbey," McGovern plays the role of American heiress Cora Crawley, the Countess of Grantham. The popular show will be premiering its fifth season in January, 2015. – Staff Writers
