CHESANING, MI (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A sold-out July 16th appearance by Sugarland at the Chesaning Showboat Music Festival was forced to be postponed after heavy rains and lightning deluged the event, leaving a crowd of about 6,600 disappointed fans.
"Unfortunately due to the severe weather we are forced to reschedule the concert," event organizer Kevin Meyer of Meridian Entertainment Group told the Argus Press "Sugarland recognizes it's a sold-out show and they want to do everything they can to reschedule."
Organizers for the event waited for more than two hours before finally deciding to postpone. According to the Flint Journal, the region has been beset by unusual weather this year with more than 110 "severe weather events" in June, compared to just 32 in June of 2007.
