Mikey Day, Melissa Villaseñor and Alex Moffat Join The Repertory Cast At SNL

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — Mikey Day, Melissa Villaseñor and Alex Moffat have joined the cast of repertory players for Saturday Night Live ahead of the venerable sketch comedy show’s 44th season debut later this month.

The three have been featured players on SNL since 2016, and Day has been a writer on the show since 2013 before he was promoted.

According to TheWrap who first reported the news, a source at NBC with casting knowledge also said Chris Redd and Heidi Gardner will return to “SNL” as featured players for Season 44.

Moffat’s past experience includes a role as a regular performer at iO Chicago and the Annoyance Theatre. Villaseñor is an experienced stand-up comic who has headlined more than 100 clubs and colleges around the country.

Day was a member of The Groundlings comedy troupe in Los Angeles and was a cast member on Nick Cannon’s MTV comedy series “Wild ‘N Out” for seven seasons. Most recently, he was a co-head writer and cast member on NBC’s “Maya & Marty” and co-writer for the 2016 comedy “Brother Nature.”

Previously, NBC revealed that Luje Null, who was a featured player on the show last year will not be returning to the late-night comedy fest for season 44.

The full company for season 44 is: Beck Bennett, Aidy Bryant, Michael Che, Pete Davidson, Mikey Day, Heidi Gardner, Leslie Jones, Colin Jost, Kate McKinnon, Alex Moffat, Kyle Mooney, Luke Null, Chris Redd, Cecily Strong, Kenan Thompson, Melissa Villaseñor.

SNL will premier season 44 on Sept. 29th with guest stars Adam Driver and Kanye West.
