LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) Benny Medina, music manager for Jennifer Lopez and formerly for Will Smith and Mariah Carey, will not by charged by the Los Angeles District Attorney for an alleged sexual assault in 2004.
The case was declined by the office’s entertainment sexual assault task force because of the statue of limitations and because the unnamed, alleged victim recently died, according to Deadline Hollywood. No further information was provided.
The DA’s office formed the task force in November, motivated by the Harvey Weinstein scandal. The unit has yet to prosecute anyone, according to Deadline.
Medina was also recently accused by actor Jason Dottley of rape at the producer-manager’s Los Angeles mansion. Medina, through his attorneys, have denied the allegation.
