2014 MTV EMA Noms Announced


GLASGOW, Scotland (CelebrityAccess) — MTV has announced the list of nominees for the 2014 European Music Awards, with Katy Perry and Ariana Grand leading the pack.

Katy Perry, who has hosted the MTV European Music Awards twice and who has previously won 4 trophies, leads the field with 7 nominations, including nods for best song, and best pop album.

Ariana Grande isn't far behind, with 6 nominations, including nods for best song, best female artist and best pop album. While this is Grande's first time as a nominee, she served as the backstage host for the EMAs in 2013.

Breakout artists this year with multiple nominations include 5 Seconds of Summer and Iggy Azalea, Pharrell Williams, Canadian newcomer Kiesza, and Brits Sam Smith and One Direction.

Other artists nominated for various categories are Miley Cyrus, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Charli XCX, Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys, Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Linkin Park, Fall Out Boy, Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Paramore, Thirty Seconds to Mars.

The awards are set to take place on Sunday, November 9 at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. The festivities kick off at 7 p.m. EST with a special pre-show live telecast in Miami before the main event.
