SAN FRANCISCO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Secondary ticket market website stubhub.com has reported that their ticket sales for 2006 have nearly doubled over the previous year.

Stubhub provides a safe forum for people to buy and sell tickets to events at fair market prices and has become the industry leader in second-market sales. According to StubHub, fans bought and sold tickets for more than 7,300 hundred events, facilitated by their service.

Of the top 10 grossing tours in 2006, American Idols Live, a compilation of finalists from the hit TV show, is the only act debuting in the 21st century.

StubHub grew more than 120% year-over-year based on the actual number of concert tickets sold via the site.

The number of active buyers and sellers on StubHub nearly doubled in 2006 from last year. The number of unique visitors to the site has climbed to an average of nearly 3 million per month at year's end.
