LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Production firms Ed & Ted's Excellent Lighting and Q1 Productions have teamed up in a new joint venture, Epic Production Technologies. Epic will provide a range of lighting and rigging services, as well as sales and rentals of rigging, audio, staging and softgoods.
The company announced at the same time that they had received an equity injection from Miami-based private investment shop, H.I.G. Capital to facilitate expanding their inventory of equipment.
Ed & Ted's was established in 1994 in Salt Lake City, and has gone on to be a major supplier of lighting and rigging equipment to touring artists such as Bon Jovi, The Eagles, Tom Petty, Foo Fighters, George Michael, Beyonce and Matchbox 20.
Founded in 2001, Q1 Productions has been involved in numerous complex productions, including the Tony Award winning musicals Showboat, Ragtime and Disney's The Lion King and the XV Winter Olympic Games Closing Ceremonies. The company has branched into installations as well, handling live theatre and project installation throughout the North American market, including several major installation projects for AEG such as the entire lighting and rigging system for Nokia Theatre L.A.
