(Hypebot) – Move over majors. Independent labels are scoring victories not just online, but everywhere. Once the exclusive territory of the major labels, indie labels are finally finding success with broadcast radio.
This week, indie labels released over 50% of the songs on Mediabase's Active Rock Chart. While radio is often thought of as a showcase for major label releases, this week's chart reflects who that is changing in certain genres.
Charting indie labels include,300 Entertainment, Big Machine, Eleven Seven, Epitaph, Fantasy/CMG, Glassnote, Loma Vista/CMG, Loud & Proud, Razor & Tie, Red Bull Records, and Wind-Up.
