When Bon Jovi played an intimate set at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom for 250 friends, family members and record company personnel on August 21, nature called. During the middle of the show, Jon Bon Jovi advised guitarist Richie Sambora that "I really gotta pee."
Standing at the front of the stage, Bon Jovi fanatic Matt Sneed stepped up. He said, "Dude, I'll sing." Jon Bon Jovi handed him the microphone, declaring, "This is our version of 'American Idol.'"
Sneed listened to Jon Bon Jovi's instructions, and then ripped through "Born to Be My Baby" while Jon Bon Jovi dashed backstage.
In the published photographs the next few days, Sambora was seen with a huge grin on his face.
