NASHVILLE, TN (CelebrityAccess) — Live Nation has signed on with Nashville's Municipal Auditorium to book concerts in the venerable music venue.
According to the Nashville Tennessean, the terms of the three-year deal will see Live Nation pay $1 million to the auditorium's operating fund and Metro will agree to invest $1.5 million in upgrades.
Planned upgrades to the venue include improvements to the dressing rooms, a new production room and catering area, and infrastructure upgrades, including high-speed internet. As well, the venue will get a new coat of exterior paint and see upgrades to sanitary and concession facilities.
Municipal Auditorium board chairman Blake McDaniel told the Tennessean that the deal with Live Nation was a preferred vendor agreement, and allowed other promoters to book shows at the venue. McDaniel also said that the deal with Live Nation had already helped to revitalize the auditorium and he had already seen an increase in other promoters interested in staging shows at the Municipal.
"I think part of it is when a promoter like Live Nation comes in, I think it legitimizes the facility in a lot of ways," McDaniel told the Tennessean. "I think we’re seeing the results of that." – Staff Writers
