Record Labels At Odds With MTV

MTV's Video Music Awards did not sit right with some record labels, reports the New York Post. To get artists on the show, record companies reportedly had to pick up the entire tab for its artists. The paper says that Sony had to pay close to $250,000 for Jennifer Lopez's appearance while Jive paid up to $1 million for 'N SYNC and Britney Spears to perform. There are reports that the labels will meet with MTV to discuss the situation. The labels are not sure what they got in return.
