IRVING, CA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The land on which the current Verizon Wireless Amphitheater and Wild Rivers Water Park reside is being re-tasked to residential living space. The Amphitheater's lease doesn't expire for 11 years and town officials have indicated that they will honor current leases but the water park's lease is up next year, making it's fate more uncertain.
Both the owners of the water park and amphitheater have both expressed interest in relocating to sprawling Orange County Great Park, located on the previous site of the El Torro Marine Base. The original $400 million dollar plans for the park included funds for a 10,000 seat venue which could be opened as soon as 2008 if building schedules can be maintained. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers.
