NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) — MTV announced the latest round of performers for the MTV Video Music Awards, with Travis Scott and Post Malone added to the bill.
Scott and Malone will join previously roster of performers at the annual awards show, including Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, and Logic with Ryan Tedder.
As well, Jennifer Lopez, who has been announced as the recipient of this year’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award, is scheduled to perform during the awards show for the first time since the dark days of 2011.
The awards will be held on August 20th at New York’s Radio City Music Hall.
The nominees for this year’s VMAs were revealed on July 16. Cardi B leads the charge with 10 nominations, followed by The Carters (Beyoncé and Jay-Z) who earned 8 nods. Childish Gambino and Drake both received 7 nominations each.
There’s still no word on who is hosting the event this year. Last year, Katy Perry served as the master of ceremonies for the event and was announced one month ahead of the awards gala.
