SANTA FE, N.M. (CelebrityAccess) Bill Daily, 91, who played the famed sidekick to Major Nelson on “I Dream Of Jeannie” and Bob Hartley’s neighbor on “The Bob Newhart Show,” died of natural causes at his home in Santa Fe, N.M., Sept. 4.
Daily played alongside Larry Hagman’s lead character on “I Dream of Jeannie” starring Barbara Eden as Maj. Roger Healey from 1965 to 1970. Hagman died in 2012 at age 81.
Daily also played Bob Newhart’s neighbor, divorced airline navigator Howard Borden, on Newhart’s television show from 1972 to 1978.
Other television credits include “Alf,” “Bewitched,” “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” “Love American Style,” Aloha Paradise” and “Starting From Scratch,” according to Fox.
Daily, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, became director of the New Mexico Film Commission.
