THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn (CelebrityAccess) — The city of Thief River Falls, Minnesota has tapped Iowa-based venue management company, VenuWorks to manage the Ralph Engelstad Arena, Huck Olson Memorial Civic Center, Thief River Falls Tourist Park, and the MEC Center.

“The City of Thief River Falls is excited to partner with VenuWorks for the management of the Ralph Engelstad Arena, Huck Olson Memorial Civic Center, Thief River Falls Tourist Park and the MEC Center,” said Mayor Brian Holmer. “VenuWorks has an extensive resume of successfully managing facilities in markets like ours. We have the utmost confidence in the VenuWorks team and look forward to growing this partnership in future years.”

The 140,000 sq. ft. Ralph Engelstad Arena and Huck Olson Memorial Civic Center feature two ice sheets, basketball floor, on site catering kitchen and twelve locker rooms, and annually host sporting events, concerts, trade shows, receptions and corporate meetings.

The Thief River Falls Tourist Park has 72 camping sites, operating annually from approximately May 15th to September 15th. The MEC Center, 37 acres located along County Rd. 18, was completed in 2000. The complex is home to seven softball fields and one baseball field. It is home to high school, Babe Ruth, Legion, and VFW baseball as well as girls fast pitch softball, and men’s and women’s slow pitch softball.

VenuWorks will assume management of the facilities in January and begin its transition plan. VenuWorks is currently conducting a national search for an Executive Director to lead the team in Thief River Falls.
