BOSTON (CelebrityAccess) — Veteran Boston-based comic Rich Ceisler has passed away due to complications of Guillain-Barré syndrome, an autoimmune disease affecting the central nervous system.
According to Comic news website Laughspin, Ceisler fell ill while performing on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. He was transported by helicopter to a hospital in the Dominican Republic, but passed away from pneumonia.
Originally from Long Island, Ceisler was active both on the comedy club circuit and as a corporate comedian, performing for companies such as IBM, Xerox and Pepsi. Ceisler's specialty was posing a expert lecturer Dr. Richard Clark, taking corporate audiences by surprise.
Unfortunately, Ceisler's illness left significant medical bills in his wake that were not covered by insurance and a GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help defray these expenses.
The service for Rich will be at Temple Beth Avodah in Newton on August 10th. – Staff Writers
