DUBLIN (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Online auction giant eBay is preparing to launch a UK outlet of their online secondary ticketing marketplace StubHub to challenge the market's current leaders Viagogo and Seatwave.
StubHub's UK outlet will be their first foray outside of the U.S. market and according to the Financial Times the company is currently recruiting staff in Dublin.
The company said that they expect to launch their UK outlet in the fourth quarter of 2011 and the launch will include a standalone brick and mortar retail location to provide support for their online operation.
A rep from eBay told the Fianncial Times: "From a UK perspective, our ambitions would be to provide the same kind of top-class customer service that has enabled us to be the leading secondary ticketing market in the US." – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
