SYDNEY, NSW (CelebrityAccess) — The inaugural Australian edition of snowboarder Shaun White’s Air + Style music and snow sports festival has been called off just weeks before it was due to launch.

The three-day event, which delivers snow sports demonstrations and competition, as well as live music, has been successfully staged in Los Angeles, Innsbruck and Beijing. The festival was scheduled to debut this year in Sydney from August 3rd to August 5th.

Headliners for the fest included Snow Patrol and Flo Rida, who are both still scheduled for a series of shows in the region.

According to Australian music news site Music Feed, organizers said the event was canceled due to “circumstances beyond their control.”

In a statement posted to social media, festival founder Shaun White said:

“As a brand, we pride ourselves on always creating the most top-tier, dynamic sports and music event, and we were looking forward to bringing that experience to Australia for the first time.

“We had partnered with a company that we believed shared our vision and values, but ultimately they did not. Unfortunately, this left us in difficult situation, which resulted in a forced cancellation of the weekend.

“To all ticket buyers, athletes, and musicians – thank you for your enthusiasm and continued support. Tickets will be fully refunded through Moshtix and we plan on returning in the future with a stellar event.”

The local promoters who were organizing the event, Moore Snow Sports, who are a division of Australian sports agency Moore Sports International, has entered liquidation.
