LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Atlas Music Publishing announced the hiring of Mike Locke as Vice President of Creative Synchronization and Marketing.

Locke will oversee all of the publisher’s sync activity, as well as contribute to overall business development, Atlas said. He will be based out of the company’s Los Angeles offices.

Atlas is known for its proactivity, which includes a heavy sync prowess. We have a history of growing sync sometimes over 50% when we take on a catalog or artist. Whether it is placing legendary songs from the likes of Van Halen and Al Green, or brand new works from up and comers such as Saint PHNX and Coyle Girelli, Atlas has made a name for itself in the music supervisor community,” said Atlas founder and CEO Richard Stumpf. “We are known as a brand that is quick with turnarounds, on point with its pitches, and strong, but fair negotiators. Mike’s arrival is another part of our continued growth. When we decided we needed a senior-level person at the wheel, we met with many, many candidates, but it was clear to us that Mike had both the experience and the ‘never quit’ attitude that is vital for this role. Under Mike’s leadership, the team will inevitably add to the already strong results we’ve had.”

Prior to joining Atlas, Locke led the sync licensing department at INgrooves, where he secured placements across all media including major campaigns for Google, Apple, Starbucks, and Royal Caribbean.

His previous experience also includes co-founding Silver Side Productions, a music licensing and digital label company, with places music in campaigns for corporate partners such as Budweiser and Subaru, as well as motion pictures, including “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2″ and trailers for films such as “Mission Impossible 6,” “Equalizer 2.”

“I’m thrilled to join the Atlas team and look forward to further developing their catalog. They’ve done an impressive job in a short period of time working with both iconic song catalogs and developing new talent. I look forward to getting creative with ways to partner within the industry, build out the sync department and contribute to the overall company growth,” Locke added.
