ENGLAND (CelebrityAccess) About a month ago, Rudi Dolezal, who directed videos for Queen and was a close friend of Freddie Mercury, said that a sequel to the biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” was possible and the possibility was not squelched by Mercury’s sister when she was recently asked about it.
Dolezal spoke to Page Six in early March, saying of Queen’s legendary manager, Jim Beach, that, “I’m sure he plans a sequel that starts with Live Aid,” adding that the followup film is now “being heavily discussed in the Queen family.”
The Oscar-winning film has grossed more than $870 million worldwide and was nominated for best film despite being skewered by some critics and having a scene that became an Internet meme for its ridiculous editing.
Mercury’s sister Kashmira was asked about a sequel during an interview with the Nottingham Post and she could not confirm it, but did not deny it outright.
“I haven’t heard from the management about a sequel,” Kashmira said. “Only time will tell.”
