CUPERTINO, Calif. (CelebrityAccess) After 18 years, iTunes is reportedly going to be put to rest.

The announcement, first reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, It does not come as a shock as Apple beings to incorporate macOS 10.15.

iTunes will be replaced with standalone versions of the Music, TV and Podcasts apps as it has “become for many users a bloated shadow of its former self, with so many bells and whistles crammed into the app that many users have just ignored it altogether for years,” according to BGR News.

It is a far cry from when Steve Jobs announced iTunes around the turn of the century when he said, “Apple has done what Apple does best — make complex applications easy, and make them even more powerful in the process. iTunes is miles ahead of every other jukebox application, and we hope its dramatically simpler user interface will bring even more people into the digital music revolution.”

Apple is expected to introduce its new versions of its OS for its various devices on Monday during a keynote for WWDC 2019.
