(CelebrityAccess) — Dead & Company frontman John Mayer was granted a temporary restraining order against a fan he alleged has been sending him inappropriate and threatening messages.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Mayer contends that the male individual has sent both public and private messages to Mayer that threaten physical violence.

Mayer said some of the alleged messages contain references to “Bundy” (presumably notorious serial killer Ted Bundy) and Mark David Chapman, the man who killed John Lennon, the Blast reported.

Other messages included direct threats such as “You step from me again and I will kill you,” “All ya had to do was be my pal,” and “I’ve put many a jew in the hospital.”

According to The Blast, the harassment started in March and the individual in question has shown up at public events, including a Mayer appearance in North Carolina.

Mayer is currently on tour with shows scheduled in North America through September 21st when he performs at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival before he heads to Europe for additional shows in October.
