Armed Police Raid Editors Gig

COLOGNE, Germany (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Armed police raided a show by Editors in Germany last week, shutting down the concert after several noise complaints from locals in the town of Kulturkirche.

The band was beginning their encore when the police burst into the venue, a converted church, cutting the show short by one song.

“The venue was an old church over the road from a load of houses and, during our set, they called the police to complain about the noise,” Editors bassist Russell Leetch told NME. “The first we knew about it was when the police turned up just as we were starting our encore and told our tour manager to stop the set.

“Our tour manager bravely stalled them long enough for us to play ‘Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors’ but we had to finish before doing ‘Finger In The Factories’. We owe Cologne a song and we promise to make it up to them next time as long as they don’t set the law on us again!”

Editors are currently on a tour across Europe, including upcoming appearances at the Oxegen Festival and the T in the Park festival. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
