Big Time Rush Plans 2012 North American Tour

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Columbia Records/Nickelodeon announced today that Big Time Rush will be hitting the road beginning late February 2012 for the "Better With U Tour."

Big Time Rush is a Nickelodeon television musical comedy-drama about a group of hockey players selected to form a boy band named Big Time Rush. The series debuted in early 2010 and has gone on to become a certified hit with the tweens. Crossing over from fiction to reality, the band's 2010 debut album BTR has moved over a million units to date and sold 3 million tracks digitally. BTR will be touring in support of their sophomore album "Elevate" which is set to drop on November 21st.

The tour, promoted by Live Nation, is set to kick off on Feb. 17 in Las Vegas and will be supported by UK boy band One Direction on most dates.

Nickelodeon is prepping a full-court press to bolster the tour, with a 30-minute special on Nov. 12 called ‘Big Time Rush: Music Sounds Better With U’ with behind the scenes grist from both backstage and the studio. A feature film, "Big Time Movie" is also being prepped for next year.
