Bjork Cancels More Dates Due To Vocal Problems

REYKJAVIK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — Icelandic singer Bjork has canceled more tour dates through June & July, including a headlining billet at the Roskilde Festival due to ongoing issues with throat.

According to a statement released about the cancelations, Bjork's doctor advised her to rest her vocal chords to avoid the risk of permanent damage.

Other canceled festival dates include Primavera Sound in Spain; Optimus Primavera Sound in Portugal; Colours of Ostrava in the Czech Republic; Balaton Sound in Hungary and Afisha Picnic in Russia.

Issues with Bjork's voice caused her to cancel shows in the U.S. and South America earlier this year.

Despite the cancelations, organizers for Roskilde still seem to hold out some hope that Bjork might make the scene after all, taking to Twitter to say: "We've asked and the word from Björk's people is that they expect her to be ready for #rf12." #rf12 is the festival's Twitter hashtag. – CelebrityAccess
