PRAGUE (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The Czech press is reporting that legendary songwriters Karel Svoboda has died, apparently taking his own life. He was 68.
Svoboda was a prolific composer for film, television, composing the soundtracks for some of the nations best-loved television series and films in addition to writing for popular Czech performers such as Karel Got. He was widely regarded as a household name in the Czech Republic.
Police responded to his villa outside of Prague on Sunday night and found the composer dead of a gunshot wound, apparently self-inflicted.
Although he lost a daughter to Leukemia a few years ago, he is survived by his wife Vendula and a toddler. – CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
