BONNER SPRINGS, Kansas (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A 26-year-old man collapsed and subsequently died while attending the August 2nd Vans Warped Tour date at the Sandstone Amphitheater in Kansas.
According to a post on the venue's website, the man; Curtis Alan DeForest of Wichita, was transported to the Providence Medical Center after collapsing at the show. An investigation by the Bonner Springs Police Department and the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office is ongoing. The cause of death has yet to be determined and the venue is working closely with authorities to aid in their investigation.
A spokesperson for the Sandstone Amphitheater also noted that the venue had taken additional measures to help festival-goers find relief from the heat, including additional free water refill locations, misting stations as well as awnings to provide shade.
